Code Geass ending – thumbs up!

Code Geass 2 – Episode 25 “Re;” Review [10/10]

Finally, I found time to finish this series, and although I was a little bit dizzy with all those over-the-top twists, I was very happy with the conclusion.

Warning: Contains Spoilers

The circumstances of Lelouch’s death was the one thing I loved most about this episode because it somewhat gave justice to all the atrocities he has done, having died with everyone’s hatred. Yet it also was fair to his good intentions because the people who mattered most to him – Kallen, Nunnally, CC, and Suzaku – eventually understood his scheme.

Suzaku was now given the burden of Zero’s mask, a fitting role for him as both punishment and goal – he had always wanted world peace and he now had that power to maintain it. Also, as he was angry at what Lelouch and his Geass have done, he found justice by taking the task of having to kill him. But as Lelouch was his friend, it was a punishment for him as well.

Lastly, I expected CC to die in the end, but she didn’t, and it made me wonder if another season of Code Geass is in the works, with Suzaku in the lead this time. Who knows.

R2 got a little TOO twisty IMO. I got so you did not know who to root for. Even the person you rooted for the previous episode may no longer be someone you can in the next.

It was still enjoyable, however not as much as first season. Here are my takes on both seasons with lots o’ pics and perhaps a little wit:
