Darker Than Black

What first caught my attention was the title, considering black is my favorite color *big grin* and after watching the first episode it now caught my interest. Not much action has happened so far, but I’m hoping for cool action scenes and a varied display of power and fighting styles in the following episodes. Since different groups are involved, the story is probably going to get complicated and intense, though hopefully not too much.

So far, the character that got my attention (aside from that curious black cat that keeps popping up) is the stoic Yin. I know there are other animes with similar type characters but I’m curious about what she can do and stuff, and how big a part she is to the show.

The main character Hei A.K.A. Li, is of course, interesting… bordering on suspicious. But with his unappealing facial expressions, with the dullness of his eyes, he has yet to impress me. It’s almost as if I don’t find him suitable as a main character. His wire thing is pretty neat though – quick and slick.

Another main character, though a bit underrated here, is Kirihara Misaki, who for me seems to be the typical strong woman, Section Chief of Foreign Affairs. Well, there’s not really much to say about her at this point.

Those who like Rie Fu are probably gonna like the ending theme “Tsukiakari”, but I’m more into fast-pace ones like the opening song “HOWLING” by the “abingdon boys school” (though I don’t get what the hell “abingdon” means – did they mean “abandoned boys school”?).

This is it for now. I don’t know yet if I should be recommending this to anyone, but it seems promising.

“Ah! You’re the gravestone seller who’s always calling me! You’re so annoying! I already told you, we don’t need one yet!”

“Are you looking at the stars…? In the middle of the city…? Even though the only stars you can see from here are fake?”

“Rumors are nothing more than that. How can we expect to help if we are sitting here worrying about rumors?”
