Neglected Blog & Initial Ratings

Not only have I neglected this blog (which I thought would be helpful for me in the future), I have also managed to neglect some of the interesting anime that I was watching (and blogging).  Among the series I listed in this post (aside from Dragonaut and Night Wizard which I dropped), I only managed to finish Shion no Ou and Ghost Hound. I already wrote an overall review for Shion no Ou but I don’t know if I will be writing one for Ghost Hound (my rating for that, by the way, is 8 out of 10). I got really busy at that time and although I have time to spare now (though still somewhat busy), I am already watching other shows. It doesn’t feel nice at all that things are left unfinished. But, if I don’t feel like blogging, then I don’t blog.

Right now, the ongoing series that I’m watching are:

  • Blade of the Immortal (initial rating: 9/10)
  • Blassreiter (initial rating: 9/10)
  • Code Geass 2 (initial rating: 8/10)
  • Itazura na Kiss (initial rating: 7/10)
  • Macross Frontier (initial rating: 8/10)
  • Special A (initial rating: 7/10)

And the completed series I am also watching are:

  • Air Gear (initial rating: 8/10)
  • Boogiepop Phantom (initial rating: 7/10)
  • Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (initial rating: 8/10)

I have just recently (within the past three months) finished watching:

  • Code Geass (overall rating: 7/10)
  • Elfen Lied (overall rating: 8/10)
  • Nodame Cantabile (overall rating: 8/10)
  • Noir (overall rating: 8/10)
  • Trigun (overall rating: 9/10)
  • Vampire Knight (overall rating: 7/10)

And I plan to continue watching:

  • Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (initial rating: 8/10)

I don’t know if I will be blogging reviews or recaps for these, but at least I was able to rate them.

You can view my complete and updated Anime List and Manga List from my MyAnimeList.net profile. Make your own if you don’t already have one. (Actually, I’m not sure who I’m talking to, or if I’m talking to someone at all LOL)

Dropped Dragonaut & Night Wizard

I have finally decided to drop Dragonaut and Night Wizard because after watching their fourth episodes, they do not seem to be worth my time. Dragonaut was just too disappointing and Night Wizard too bland.

So… Sayonara Dragonaut! Sayonara Night Wizard! :D

Added Recaps & Spoiler Alerts

I just added the following stuff:

  • Recaps – brief summaries of episodes (or manga chapters, if ever).
  • Spoiler Alerts – warnings that indicate when a spoiler is ahead, added into some entries under reviews and recaps.

I also split the reviews category into subcategories:

  • Episode Reviews
  • Initial Reviews
  • Overall Reviews
  • Chapter Reviews (will be added for manga chapters, if ever)

Initial Reviews, Styles, and Quotes

Finally, I have finished organizing and updating my blog. Well, there’s still more to add but for now, the contents are good enough.

I’ve already completed the initial reviews for the eight ongoing anime’s I’m currently watching.

  • Bamboo Blade
  • Dragonaut – The Resonance
  • Mobile Suit Gundam 00
  • Night Wizard
  • Rental Magica
  • Shakugan no Shana II
  • Suteki Tantei Labyrinth
  • You’re Under Arrest: Full Throttle

Aside from them, I’m also watching the following anime’s, though since I haven’t watched upto their third episodes, I don’t really want to make initial reviews yet.

  • Ghost Hound
  • Jyuushin Enbu – Hero Tales
  • Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
  • Shion no Ou

I’ve also edited the entries in the Styles category and added pictures too. They’re not much, but there’s more to come later.

Lastly, I’ve changed the style of posting anime quotes because I don’t want really long titles. Previously, the quote itself was the title, and that setup looked messy. I’ve also recently added a quote from Ryoma which I totally related to while updating and organizing my blog… and now I will part this update with it.

“Mada mada da ne.”

Anime Personality Styles

Back in year 2001 or so, my friend created a site called “The Anime List” (which is totally different from MyAnimeList.net). Its main feature is a list of different character personality styles, which I found really cool, and I even contributed some stuff. But the site is inactive now.

Because I really like the idea, I decided to do something similar in this (amateurish) anime blog. However, it will only be temporary until I get my friend’s approval (in which case I will go on with it) or disapproval (in which case I will remove that feature).

The new feature will fall under “styles“, which can be seen under the categories section. I will only add the character write-ups that I’ve written, so as not to steal anyone’s work, as well as indicate the link where it is originally found.

Otaku Desu! v3

Once again, this blog has died. And once again, I’m reviving it, especially now that I might be having more free time than I’m used to.

I’m a lover of simple things so I decided to use a simpler theme, though still with a black-and-red motiff (ahh… my favorite colors!). The categories section is more organized now and I plan to edit some past entries. I will be adding a features section, though I’m not yet sure about the contents. I’ve also put in some pictures, though not yet as much as I want to.

I’m currently watching some anime shows that have just started to air and soon, I’ll be posting initial reviews on some of them. Writing reviews about each episode is really what I want to do, my whole purpose for doing this blog, and I really think it will be useful for me in the future. I’d like to do some summaries too but after doing one, I realized how taxing it could be, so I’ll just stick to reviews and add in a brief summary of the episode-in-question in those. However, initial reviews will probably be about the first three episodes of a series, though that will depend on the time and interest I might have for writing reviews per episode instead. In any case, my reviews will, more often than not, contain spoilers.

But even though my priority is to document my thoughts on the anime shows I’m watching currently, I also plan to do some reviews on older ones, especially those I like. Still, that’s just a future plan.

Okay, I’ll end this update now and actually get back to updating my anime blog. Ja.

Otaku Desu! v2

Ha! I knew this blog would be dead (and the only posts are about Darker than Black), but now I’m bringing it back to life again. :D

I’m busy today so I won’t be able to do much. However, I did a few changes. Minor ones on the layout and I totally changed the categories.

My plan is to gradually write stuff on the animes that I’ve seen in the past (I wanna populate this blog as much as I can because I plan to read it in the future) and of course, those I’m watching currently: Darker than Black, Seirei no Moribito, Denno Coil. I also plan to add in some reviews and maybe summaries on some manga. I’m watching Naruto Shippuuden and Bleach (though I’m a little lazy on Bleach so I’m not very updated) so I probably will write something about them as well. I might also add a few images here and there, though I’m satisfied with just text. However, if I have readers, I most likely will (but currently, I don’t think I do – there are better anime blogs out there).

Ganbarimasu. I’ll do my best.

Otaku Desu!

Hello! Sirione here, finally coming up with an anime blog. I’m relatively an amateur at this but it seems fun so what the hell? :D

Well, I organized the categories part, decided on 5 categories – episode guides (SummedUp), reviews (Graded), characters (TheHitlist), quotes (WhatWords), and just plain talk (Chatter). But now that I’ve finished it, it took me a while to stop staring at the screen wondering what the hell should I do next? I’ve watched a whole lot of anime and read several manga over the course of my complicated life (just adding some drama here) so… should I be writing about ALL of them??? I don’t know, I rarely even browse other people’s anime blogs…

Anyway, I’ll just go with what I feel like doing and… see if this blog’s gonna be dead after a few days. ^_^; I don’t have much time to watch anime now, but when I can, I might remember to write a blog about it, and this will come in handy :D Yoshi!
